We have refreshed all Linux operating system images, and new VPS orders now use the new images by default. Existing services are not affected. If you would like to try the new images, you can reinstall the operating system from the control panel. Reinstalling erases all data on the system disk, so please back up your data first.

1. Updated Versions

Ubuntu 26.04, Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13 and Rocky Linux 9 and 8 are now available. The Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, CentOS and AlmaLinux images have also been updated to the latest patches, and all images will be refreshed monthly from now on.

Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 11 have reached the end of official support, so we have retired them as well. They are no longer available for new orders or reinstalls. Existing Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 11 services continue to work as usual.

2. BBR and FQ Enabled by Default

Except for systems whose kernel does not support BBR (such as CentOS 7), the new images enable BBR congestion control and FQ queueing by default, together with basic TCP tuning. This works better for proxy, cross-border and long-distance traffic.

3. Swap Included

The new images include 1 GB of swap, which reduces the chance of processes being killed on low-memory plans when memory runs out (OOM).

4. Leaner Images

We have reduced the image size and removed unnecessary preinstalled components. The system uses fewer resources, automatic updates are spread across the day, and more disk space and resources are left for your own workloads.

If you run into any issues while reinstalling or using the new images, please open a ticket and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for your business,
