We will perform maintenance on our Los Angeles Cogent nodes (LAX-BGP products) in two phases: host server upgrades and related work first, followed by the migration of older servers. On the day the migration is complete, bandwidth for all users will be upgraded to 1–2 Gbps free of charge.
Phase 1: Host Server Upgrades
Thursday, October 8, 2026, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Toronto time, EDT)
- We have reserved a 2-hour window. Actual downtime is expected to be around 30 minutes.
- Affected services may be rebooted more than once during the window.
- Work is done host by host, so some services will be back sooner than others.
Phase 2: Older Server Migration
Friday, October 9, 2026, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Toronto time, EDT)
- Only IPs in the 38.127.*.* range are affected.
- Each server is expected to be offline for only 5–10 minutes.
- Latency may increase during the migration, but service will remain usable overall.
