We noticed that the host serving the 38.127.* IP range of our LAX-BGP service became unreachable. Our initial checks confirmed that the host itself remained operational and had not rebooted. We then contacted the upstream technical team by phone, who confirmed that the issue was within Cogent’s network. The cause remained under investigation, with no ETR available at that time.
All other LAX-BGP IP ranges remained operational, so we assessed the incident as a partial network outage. VPS data and IP addresses were unaffected. We continued following the upstream investigation and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
UPDATE | September 8, 3:25 PM EDT
We are now observing normal connectivity for the 38.127.* IP range. Cogent has not yet formally confirmed that the incident is resolved, so we will continue monitoring while awaiting their final confirmation.
Once Cogent confirms the resolution and exact affected period later today, compensation will be applied automatically. The observed impact is currently estimated at approximately 1 hour; if the final confirmed duration is less than 24 hours, we will still round it up and provide a minimum 24-hour service extension. No support ticket is required.
